How we calculate these rates
The calculator is arithmetic on numbers you control, not a prediction. This page shows the formula, where each default came from, and exactly which platform rate is applied to the net figures — so you can check our work instead of trusting it.
The formula
turkey, exotics gross = price per hunter × hunters × hunts
whitetail gross = (buck price × bucks) + (doe price × does)
you keep = gross − (gross × platform rate)
Wingshooting sells a day afield, so the same field earns again every time you open it. Turkey and exotics sell a hunt per hunter. Whitetail sells animals — and because a management buck and a doe differ by roughly ten times in price, blending them into one number would be a fiction, so they are priced and counted separately.
That is the whole thing. There is no occupancy assumption, no seasonality curve, and no growth multiplier hidden in it. The hunter pays your listed price exactly; the platform rate comes out of your payout, never as a surcharge on top of the hunter’s bill.
The platform rate applied
The net figures use fee model v6.0: a flat 15% of every booking. There are no tiers and no property counts — the rate is the same on your first booking and your five-hundredth.
Card processing on every booking is on us — it never reduces your payout. A $5 minimum platform fee applies once per booking, which only bites on unusually small ones.
The calculator reads the rate from the same code that prices a real booking, so the two can never disagree.
Listing minimums. Each species carries a minimum price per hunter, per day — $85 dove and waterfowl, $100 turkey, $200 exotics, $400 whitetail doe and $800 whitetail buck. Minimums reflect the lowest going market value our research has deemed viable for generating revenue. The same numbers are enforced when a listing is created or edited, and the ranges quoted above sit at or above them.
The default day rates
Every default is an adjustable estimate taken from current Texas market listings — none are invented, and none are a quote. Change them to whatever you would actually charge.

Why exotics ship blank
Texas exotics are almost always priced as a trophy fee per animal — roughly $850 to $5,950 depending on species and score — plus a day fee, not as a per-gun access day rate. We could not find a defensible day-rate figure to default to, so we ask for yours rather than print a number we made up.
Whitetail, per animal
Defaults are $3,500 per buck and $350 per doe. The buck figure is a management-class hunt; genuine trophy bucks are advertised from $5,500 into five figures depending on score, so raise it if that is what you are offering. The doe figure comes from a “meat hunt” special advertised at $700 for two.
Where turkey is weakest
Most Texas turkey hunting is sold as a multi-day package with lodging, which does not convert cleanly to a day rate. The $150 default comes from day-lease listings that bundle turkey with dove season. Treat it as the softest number on this page.
